About

Hi, I’m Peter.  I’m a Solutions Specialist helping clients across Australia achieve business outcomes with SharePoint.  I work out of Brisbane for Data#3, one of Australia’s largest IT companies.  I’m supported by my beautiful wife and amazing children.

My Story

Let me tell you a bit myself. Two things happened during my formative years that helped shape where I am today. I fell into the love of computers at an early age. I was mesmerised by the computer book in the children’s TV show Inspector Gadget. While tablets and smart devices are prevalent now, it was only a dream in the 1980’s. As a 7 year old, I was laughed off by my parents when I asked for one, they did invest in the Commodore 64.  With this  I spent a lot of time, not only gaming, but into writing my first programs in BASIC.

Fast forward a little…and I was at a stage where I was finishing high school.  I had a lot of indecision in where I wanted to study and develop a career. I recall seeing a Sixty Minutes report of a business consultant who transformed organisations by improving the way people worked and operated. I found it completely fascinating, although I had no appreciation of what this role was and what it actually entailed. For a lot of my career I have spent a lot of my time trying to emulate this man I saw many years ago.

It is through my love of technology and passion for solving problems that I came into Microsoft SharePoint (2003). I have been using SharePoint to solve business problems for over a decade, and still continue to do so. While I have removed myself from being hands-on with delivery of solutions, I remain hands-on solving business problems with clients. I am committed to understanding customer needs and finding value in leveraging the SharePoint platform.

About this Blog

This blog is largely a collection of posts around SharePoint.  They are  both technical in nature from my time delivering SharePoint solutions, as well as posts focused on how businesses can achieve outcomes using the SharePoint platform and related technologies. I have learnt and taken so much from the SharePoint community, and this is my opportunity to give something back. I will also occasionally blog about other topics. Please refer to the Blog Index to find out more.
